Xiaomi isn’t as aggressive in the tablet market as it is with its smartphones, but things may change with the company’s upcoming tablet, which has been leaked in a series of presentation slides. Of course, it’s none other than the Mi Pad 3, and it appears to be a decent Windows 10 tablet with very attractive price tags.
These leaked slides detail quite a bit on the Xiaomi Mi Pad 3’s specifications. While the Mi Pad 2 has a 7.9-inch display, the Mi Pad 3 is said to be packing a bigger 9.7-inch 2048 x 1536 display. Other than that, the tablet is said to measure only 6.08mm thin too, not to mention the fact that it may come with a keyboard dock as well.
Other alleged specifications of the Mi Pad 3 detailed in the presentation slides include a seventh generation Intel Core m3-7Y30 processor paired with a very practical 8GB of LPDDR3 RAM, two choices of eMMC storage (128GB and 256GB), as well as a very sizeable 8,290mAh battery. The Mi Pad 3 is said to feature a fingerprint sensor as well as 16MP rear and 8MP front-facing cameras as well.
Curiously, rumours are saying that an Android variant of the Mi Pad 3 is nowhere to be seen, suggesting that Xiaomi may be trying to penetrate the PC market even further after launching the Mi Notebook Air. After all, even the Mi Pad 2 has a Windows 10 variant.
While these information are certainly exciting, it’s worth noting that Xiaomi itself has not revealed anything about the Mi Pad 3. Regardless, we’ll find out more on the 30th of December, which is supposedly the launch date of the tablet. It’ll be interesting to see if the Mi Pad 3 will indeed carry 1,999 Chinese yuan (about RM1,285) and 2,299 yuan (approximately RM1,480) price tags for the 128GB and 256GB models respectively.
