Celcom has removed its roaming service, Celcom Wonderoam and have replaced it with Celcom Passport. The new roaming service includes three new roaming passes that covers not just data, but calls, and SMS as well.
1-Day Calls & SMS Pass
As its name suggests, the 1-Day Calls & SMS Pass is for calls and SMS only; with no data quota bundled. The pass costs RM18/day and it comes with unlimited local calls and SMS to Malaysia and the country you’re visiting. The pass is valid for all ASEAN countries except Vietnam.
1-Day Internet Pass
Celcom’s 1-Day Internet Pass is the standard roaming pass that replaces the WonderRoam 1 Day Internet pass. It costs RM38/day and customers will be automatically subscribed to this pass when the phone’s Internet roaming is turned on. The quota varies across countries, and Celcom has a helpful list here.
7 Days 3-in-1 Pass
Finally, there is the 7-Days 3-in-1 Pass which costs RM138 for seven days. It’s similar to the Wonderoam 1 Week plan that it replaces, in that it grants the user 3GB of Internet and unlimited calls and SMS to Malaysia and the current country. This pass is available in 32 countries instead of the older Wonderoam 1 Week pass.
Xpax 1-Day Social Roam Pass
For Xpax subscribers, you can stay connected to your social apps including Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp, and WeChat with the Xpax 1-Day Social Roam Pass. The pass costs RM10/day and it comes with 50MB high speed Internet with 50MB basic Internet. This pass is offered in 10 countries including Singapore, Indonesia, Cambodia, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Macau, Japan, and India.
Now that Celcom Wonderoam has ceased to exist, Celcom customers who are frequent travellers will only have these three passes to choose from. These plans can be subscribed using SMS or USSD commands. To learn more about Celcom Passport, head on to the official website here.
