HTC Malaysia has begun teasing the HTC A9s on its Facebook page, although it hasn’t shared any details that we don’t already know. The phone was announced back in September and is a more budget minded version of the HTC One A9.
The HTC One A9s features the same 5-inch display as the HTC One A9, but with a lower 720p resolution. HTC has also downgraded the Snapdragon processor to an octa-core MediaTek Helio P10 processor.
In the camera department, the HTC One A9s features a 13MP rear shooter with no OIS and a 5MP front camera. Unlike its bigger brother, the HTC One A9s only has Wi-Fi n; but it does have Bluetooth v4.2 and NFC.
That being said, it manages to retain the fingerprint sensor on the home button, and bumps the battery up to 2,300mAh.
There appears to be two variants of the HTC One A9s, one with 2GB RAM and 16GB onboard storage, while the other will have 3GB of RAM and 32GB onboard storage. However, only the latter variant will be released in our market for RM 1,159 and consumers should be able to see it in stores by the middle of this month.
