After a gruesome battle over five regions across Malaysia, Mountain Dew’s Dew Challenge 2016, which consists of the Mobile Challenge and Malaysia’s largest amateur Dota 2 tournament, is finally coming to its climax. All victors will cross paths one last time to determine who will walk away as champions with the highest share from the RM200,000 cash prize pool.
As the Dota 2 action goes on, top 50 finalists from the Mobile Challenge will be competing in a challenging 7-hour battle. Not only will they be tested on their physical strength, but their mental strength as well, all for the grand prize of RM50,000.
For those of you who missed out on the Mobile Challenge, fret not as Mountain Dew will be opening up a special round on the 10th of December (Saturday) at Berjaya Times Square with instant cash prizes to be won. Do take note that this special round is open to the public, so anyone with a smartphone can join!
To prepare yourself, all you need to do is:
- Download the Dew Challenge 2016 app from the App Store or Play Store. You can try out the Single and Challenge Mode practice modules to get a taste of the challenge.
- Register and get an activation code from the on-ground Dew Challenge attendant. Note that the app will only be activated during the actual gameplay periods.
- Enter the game and capture as many Mountain Dew Drones as possible during the allotted time.
In the game, there are four different coloured drones – green (100 points), orange (80 points), purple (70 points), and blue (60 points). Once a drone has been captured, a bottle will appear and players have 10 seconds to tap and fill it up. If another player taps on the same drone, both will enter Challenge mode, where both players race to tap on as many Mountain Dew bottles as possible in 15 seconds. The winner who taps more bottles will win 100 original points and steal an additional 50 points from his or her opponent. The winner with the highest amount of points from each slot instantly wins a cash prize.
