Hideo Kojima celebrated his 2016 Industry Icon Award by showing an entirely new trailer for his upcoming game, Death Stranding. Naturally, we still have no idea what’s going on; but we do get to see some new faces.
From what we can tell, the game is set in a post-apocalyptic earth; although the time period is extremely strange. World War 2 era planes and rifles are shown operating alongside modern infantry and tanks. The only thing tying it all together are some really weird tentacles and black ooze.
The baby from the first teaser with Norman Reedus also makes an appearance here; except that it is being transported in a jar by legendary director Guillermo del Toro. Mads Mikkelsen also appears – fresh off his appearance in Dr Strange – as some sort of military-type villain.

Kojima also tweeted a pair of new posters for the game and is scheduled to talk more about it over the PlayStation Experience weekend. Ideally, this means we should finally find out what the game is about. Or we can just enjoy the beautifully crafted trailers and figure it out later.
