While the 7th generation Intel Core processors for desktop will only be launched next month, plenty of leaks regarding them already made their way into the Internet. However, a retailer in Germany called CEG-Hardcorecustom has begun to offer a product based on an unreleased Kaby Lake processor since earlier this month but the said product is not a desktop PC though.
Instead, it is actually a gaming laptop in the form of Clevo P870X which seems to be a new variant that has yet to be unveiled by the Taiwanese company itself. According to CEG-Hardcorecustom, the laptop carries an Intel Core i7-7700K processor which has a maximum clock speed of 4.50 GHz. The laptop is also equipped with a 17.3-inch IPS display that has native 4K resolution (3840 x 2160), 100% Adobe RGB gamut, and G-Sync support.
Additionally, the P870X also feature two NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 graphics cards as well as tons of storage space thanks to its three 2TB Samsung 960 Pro M.2 solid state drive and two 2TB Samsung 850 Pro 2.5-inch solid state drive. Not enough with that, the laptop also comes standard with 64GB Corsair Vengeance XMP DDR4 3000MHz memory kit.
With such a beefy set of hardware, the laptop naturally does not come cheap although we are still surprised by its rather extra ordinary EUR 14,950 (about RM 70,665) price tag. It is hard to doubt information listed by CEG-Hardcorecustom since it has 100% positive rating on eBay but nevertheless, we believe that the actual pricing would be much lower when Kaby Lake processors are officially released into the market next year.
However, the price will still likely be in 5-figures region since the existing Skylake-based Clevo P870DM gaming laptop with dual GTX 1080 graphics card which is known in Malaysia as the Illegear D9X already has a starting price of RM 13,299.
