It seems that some new MacBook Pro users aren’t too happy with their Touch Bar-equipped machines because apparently, they come with faulty GPUs. Numerous amounts of frustrated, infuriated 15-inch MacBook Pro owners were seen on MacRumours forums expressing their disappointment over their newly bought and expensive notebooks.
The problem seem to be about graphical glitches – artefacts, flickering, and tearing – happening to their 15-inch MacBook Pros. All of this point to one probable culprit: a faulty GPU.
Interestingly, these issues are mostly faced by MacBook Pro users with the Radeon Pro 460 GPU. According to a poll ran by 9to5Mac, a staggering 40.96% of users (about 782) claim that they are experiencing GPU glitches on their Radeon Pro 460-equipped MacBook Pros. One affected MacBook Pro user have discovered that the glitches may only happen when the Radeon GPU is maxed out.
That said, it’s still far too early to blame the problem solely on the Radeon GPU itself. There could be other factors causing this issue as well, such as specific software problems or a driver glitch. Regardless of the cause, Apple should resolve this issue promptly to avoid more wrath and negative impressions from MacBook Pro owners.
