Back in CES 2016 earlier this year, Lenovo took the wraps off the IdeaPad 710S, which is meant to take on Apple’s aging MacBook Air. Now, the laptop is officially in Malaysia, and it’s packed with Intel’s seventh generation Kaby Lake processor.
Although the IdeaPad 710S has not appeared on Lenovo Malaysia’s website yet, several online retailers have listed the laptop. Tech Hypermart, for one, listed the IdeaPad 710S for RM2,939 instead of its suggested retail price of RM3,099. Considering what’s under the hood of the 710S, this is actually a pretty good price tag.
For the Malaysian market, it appears there is only one variant of the IdeaPad 710S. It features a 13.3-inch 1080p IPS display, a seventh generation Intel Core i5-7200U processor paired with 4GB of DDR4 RAM, a 256GB SSD, as well as Windows 10 Home out of the box.
While these are typical specifications of good productivity laptops, the main selling points of the IdeaPad 710S are two things: its slim and lightweight chassis. Weighing only about 1.2kg with a 13.9mm thin body, the 710S is plenty slim and light; its minimalist design may appeal to business professionals as well.
Now that the Lenovo IdeaPad 710S are sold by online retailers in Malaysia, we imagine other local brick and mortar stores would have it in stock as well.
