Pokemon Sun and Moon players were warned against saving their games in certain locations due to a bug that would corrupt their games. However, it turns out that this problem wasn’t caused by a problem with the game; but rather only experienced by a few who were running a cheating tool.
Fans of the games were warned on social media of a game destroying glitch when saving in Pokemon Centers or the Battle Tree. Of course, the problem is that these represented popular save points for players; despite the game allowing for saves in just about every place. It was later revealed that the cause of the glitch was the use of PKHex; a tool that allowed people to edit locations, encounter rates, and teams. In other words, it was a cheat.
Funny how people blame the games for a 'glitch' instead of stating they used an illicit tool. The tool caused the problem 🙂

The source of the glitches was revealed by the creator of the cheat programme himself; who pointed it out over social media. He pointed out that it was an older version of PKHex that causes the problem, as a newer patch allows people to save anywhere without issue.
This is probably a lesson in making sure your game is running as intended before going public with glitches; especially if you happen to be hacking its code. Fortunately, the current problem can be fixed using PKHex as well. All people need to do is edit their location to somewhere that isn’t a Pokemon Center or the Battle Tree.
