It has been five months since Sony officially introduced the Xperia XA and XA Ultra in Malaysia, and the company has recently given a price cut on these two mid-range devices. Just a couple of months back, the Xperia X also got a similar price revision.
In comparison to the Xperia X’s RM300 price cut, the Xperia XA and XA Ultra now cost RM200 less: the XA is currently going for RM999 (instead of RM1,199), while the XA Ultra retails at RM1,499 now. Some would argue that these price tags are still quite hefty for a couple of mid-range devices, but a price revision is always welcomed.
In terms of specifications, both the Xperia XA and XA Ultra feature MediaTek Helio P10 processors paired with 3GB of RAM – the XA has only 2GB of RAM – and 16GB of expandable storage. The XA Ultra also has a sizeable 6-inch 1080p display, a 2,700mAh battery, a 16MP front camera with optical image stabilisation, as well as a 21.5MP rear camera. The XA, on the other hand, has a smaller 5-inch 720p display, a 2,300mAh battery, as well as 13MP rear and 8MP front-facing cameras.
The Sony Xperia XA and XA Ultra’s price revisions should be effective immediately. Sony Malaysia mentioned that these two devices are available at all Sony Mobile Stores, Sony Centres, as well as authorised retailers nationwide.
