The Huawei Mate 9 Pro was just recently launched in China, but it appears the new device may be heading to Malaysia very, very soon; its local retail prices have also been leaked. Apparently, the Porsche Design Huawei Mate 9 could cost RM6,999 in Malaysia as well.
According to Mdroid, a local tech portal, the just announced Mate 9 Pro and the premium Porsche Design Mate 9 will be launching in Malaysia on 22 December next month. Interestingly, the retail prices of these devices were revealed too; if these price tags are legitimate, we’re looking at Huawei’s most costly smartphones yet.
As the image above shows, both variants of the Mate 9 Pro will be launched in Malaysia: the 64GB model with 4GB of RAM, and the highest-end 128GB variant with 6GB of RAM. The former will supposedly go for RM3,199, while the latter may retail at RM3,399. While these price tags are certainly high, it pales in comparison to the Porsche Design Mate 9’s alleged retail price: a whopping RM6,999.
However, it’s worth noting that these details are merely leaked information; nothing is set in stone until Huawei Malaysia itself confirm these details. Regardless, it will be interesting to see if these two Huawei Mate 9 smartphones will indeed launch on 22 December. So far, only the standard Mate 9 has been confirmed to go on sale on 22 November.
