Three months after announcing five gaming laptops with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 10-series graphics cards, the Damansara-based high performance laptop customizer Illegear has added two more model that offer similar graphics capabilities. While the 15.6-inch Illegear Z5 and 17.3-inch Illegear Z7 might looked identical to existing Z5 and Z7, the company has pointed several characteristics that made them different from their predecessors in addition to the new graphics card.
For example, the Z5 now features full anodized aluminum palm rest and matte bezel. Additionally, both models now come standard with two USB 3.1 Gen2 Type C ports and two USB 3.1 Gen1 ports. At the same time, the M.2 SATA slot and VGA within both Z5 and Z7 have been replaced by M.2 PCIe slot and Mini DisplayPort respectively.
Not to forget, Illegear has now provided 230W power adapter for these laptops instead of 180W for their predecessors. However, the CPU and GPU options for the new Z5 and Z7 are limited to Intel Core i7-6700HQ and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB GDDR5 although customers can choose to equip these laptops with up to 32GB of DDR4-2133 RAM, one 2.5-inch SATA storage drive, and one M.2 SATA/PCIe solid state drive.
Pre-installed with Windows 10 Home 64-bit edition, the price of the new Z5 gaming laptop starts at RM 5,899 while the larger Z7 is available from RM 6,099 onwards. Protected by the standard 2 years’ warranty policy, both gaming laptops can be customized and ordered directly through the company’s official website.
