Asus has unveiled a new addition to its GTX 1060 series family of graphics cards called the GTX 1060 6GB Strix (STRIX-GTX1060-DC2O6G), which should not to be confused with the ROG Strix GTX 1060 6GB (STRIX-GTX1060-O6G-GAMING). One distinct feature of the Asus GTX 1060 6GB Strix graphics card is its cooling technology: DirectCU II.
That’s right folks, Asus has decided to fit the GTX 1060 6GB Strix with its classic DirectCU II cooling technology along with the iconic ‘owl eye’ cooler shroud. As a result, Asus’ latest GTX 1060 graphics card features a PCB that is slightly shorter compared to the ROG Strix GTX 1060, which uses the company’s newer DirectCU III cooling technology.
When it comes to performance, the Asus GTX 1060 6GB Strix comes with base and boost GPU clock speeds of 1595MHz and 1811MHz respectively (OC Mode). Unsurprisingly, the clock speeds on this graphics card is significantly lower compared to the ROG Strix GTX 1060. That aside, power is fed to the graphics card through a single 6-pin power connector.
Connectivity-wise, the Asus GTX 1060 6GB Strix is equipped with three DisplayPort 1.4 ports as well as one HDMI 2.0b and DVI ports each. Unfortunately, the price and date of availability of this graphics card was not mentioned by Asus, but we do expect the company to be announcing these details soon.
