The latest MacBook Pro from Apple may have angered many for the expensive price tag and the fact that they only come with USB-C ports, but like it or not, the new MacBook Pro are one of the most popular laptops of all time, according to this report at least. Slice Intelligence, a company that measures all digital commerce activity and customer loyalty, says that in just five days, Apple has sold more new MacBook Pro than its competitors.
According to the report, after just five days, the new MacBook Pro have “accumulated more revenue than any other laptop this year”. Apple has outsold the combined sales of the Dell XPS 13 and 15, and has sold almost four times as many units as the Microsoft Surface Book. It’s still behind the 12” MacBook sales, but the MacBook has been available since April 2015.
But of course, this is an individual report and does not reflect the sales of laptops worldwide. Slice Intelligence analyses data by looking at email receipts among its panel of 4.4 million online shoppers, and track online sales only. Earlier this month, Phil Schiller, the marketing executive of Apple, mentioned that the new MacBook Pro have set new online sales record, beating previous sales for “pro Apple notebooks”, but I guess we will need to wait for an official sales report from Apple to see if its latest MacBook Pro are indeed so popular.
