If you think only Fnatic is able to represent Malaysia (sort of) at the ESL One Genting 2017 this January, we have a great news for you then. As it turns out, ESL has reserved one of the slots at ESL One Genting’s main event specifically for a Malaysian team. All you got to do is to be the top team in the Digi ESL One Genting Malaysian Qualifier that will kick off later this month.
In general, we are looking at a rather massive qualifier event that is separated into two phases. In Phase 1 of the event, it is separated even further into three regions for Peninsular Malaysia with four offline events while Sabah and Sarawak receive their own qualifiers that will take place online. There is also another separate online only qualifier that generally opens to any teams in Malaysia.
From these qualifiers, 13 teams will then be able to proceed to Phase 2 of the Digi ESL One Genting Malaysian Qualifier. Interestingly, they will also be joined by three mystery teams that will be invited directly by the organizer to make the 16 teams that will eventually compete for the spot at ESL One Genting’s main event.
In order to participate in the event, your team must consisted of at least 3 Malaysian players. Registration for all Phase 1 qualifiers already opened, so head on to the event’s official website for further details.
