First unveiled at Computex 2016 earlier this year, ASUS Republic of Gamers is finally ready to unleash its liquid cooled GX800 gaming laptop in Malaysia. As you might be able to recall, the GX800 is the follow up to the first ASUS ROG liquid cooled laptop – the GX700 – that was launched in our market last April.
Among the main difference that GX800 has brought to the table is a larger display at 18.4-inch that also has native resolution of 4K (3840 x 2160). Furthermore, the GX800 also comes with more powerful graphics capability than its predecessor in the form of two NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080.
Powered by an overlock-friendly Intel Core i7-6820HK processor, the GX800 also comes standard with 64GB of DDR4 RAM and three 512GB PCIe M2 solid state drive.
Alongside its new MechTAG keyboard, ASUS ROG has also revamped the liquid cooling setup on the GX800 to allow it to also cool down the laptop’s CPU instead of just its GPU as per GX700. The GX800 is also powered by two 330W power supply although our recent test showed that it is still able to function with just one power supply unless for overclocking purposes.
In terms of availability, the new ROG GX800 will be made available in Malaysia this Dececember for RM 25,999. Customers are able to order this highly powerful and unique desktop replacement through ASUS ROG flagship store in Plaza Low Yat.
However, if they prefer to check it out in action first before making the jump, they are able to catch the GX800 in action at ASUS ROG Masters Finals on 12 and 13 November in Kuala Lumpur Convention Center.
