Samsung has announced the global availability of six mobile accessories currently being sold in South Korea. These cover a range of speakers, wireless charging docks, earphones, and power banks; all of which are not actually new products from the company.
As far as charging options go, Samsung is offering both a wireless charging dock and a pair of power banks. The dock has space for two devices to rest on it; although it also has a USB port to cater to a third device. On the other hand, the Battery Pack Kettle Design comes in 5100mAh and 10,200mAh capacities. It can also be fitted with a USB LED light to turn it into a flashlight.
Other accessories are a Bottle shaped speaker, a portable wireless speaker, and in ear headphones. These aren’t particularly unusual for that they are supposed to be; except for the bottle speaker. Which projects audio in a 360-degree arc and has a colour changing light at the top.
The timing of announcement sounds like Samsung is attempting to open other sales to make up for the losses surrounding the Galaxy Note 7. While the company hasn’t explicitly said so, it wouldn’t be outside the realm of possibility to assume that this is a mitigation exercise to maintain the bottom line for the current financial year.
That being said, no details about when these accessories will be appearing around the world have been provided. There’s a lot of guessing here, but it shouldn’t be too long before they begin appearing in stores.
