For those of you who are waiting to get your hands on the new Apple AirPods, you’re in for a disappointment. Apple has confirmed that the launch of its wireless headphone is not ready, and they need “a little more time”.
The new AirPods were previously scheduled for “late October”. Sadly though, with only a couple of days left for the month, it looks like the Cupertino company is not ready.
“The early response to AirPods has been incredible. We don’t believe in shipping a product before it’s ready, and we need a little more time before AirPods are ready for our customers.” – a spokesperson from Apple told TechCrunch.
The AirPods was first unveiled at the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus launch event. It offers “effortless wireless listening experience” for users, giving them “high-quality audio”, as well as a long battery life. The AirPods are packed with Apple’s new W1 chipset, dual optical sensors and accelerometers. It comes with a charging case that can recharge the AirPods, giving them over 24 hours of total listening time.
The Apple AirPods retail for US$159 (about RM650), and is compatible with Apple devices running on iOS 10, watchOS 3 or macOS Sierra. In case you were wondering, yes, it’s compatible with Android and other devices with Bluetooth connectivity.
