Huawei’s upcoming smartphones, the Mate 9 and Mate 9 Pro, have been leaked yet again. This time around, renders of these two devices – which look very convincing – have surfaced. With this leak, several details on Huawei’s upcoming smartphones have also been revealed, including a dual-camera setup with Leica’s branding.
In line with a previous leak, there will indeed be two variants of the Mate 9. One is a standard model with a conventional display, while the Pro variant has a dual-curved display, much like Samsung’s Galaxy S7 edge and the ill-fated Galaxy Note 7. Interestingly, despite having a physical home button on the front, the Mate 9 Pro appears to have a rear fingerprint sensor as well.

As far as specifications go, both the Mate 9 and Mate 9 Pro share similar hardware for the most part. Both devices are said to be packed with a HiSilicon Kirin 960 processor paired with 4GB of RAM, up to 256GB of internal storage, as well as a dual-camera system made in collaboration with Leica – these leaked renders seem to confirm this. Other than that, the Mate 9 also has a 1080p display, while the Mate 9 Pro has a much sharper 1440p dual-curved display.
Snap (no pun intended): Mate 9/Pro feature 4x optical zoom. But pricing on a spec'ed out Pro is enough to give you a heart attack: $1300.

Both the Huawei Mate 9 and Mate 9 Pro are expected to be officially unveiled on the 3rd of November in Munich, Germany. We will find out then if these leaked information are accurate, especially the rumoured retail price that could go up as high as $1,300 – that’s about a whopping RM5,425.
