True to its promise, OPPO today has unveiled two new smartphones called R9s and R9s Plus. As indicated by their names, these new devices are generally the successor to the R9 (released in Malaysia as F1 Plus) and R9 Plus smartphones which themselves were just launched around seven months ago.
Among the much-touted feature of the new OPPO R9s and R9s Plus is their rear camera which is equipped with a 16-megapixels IMX398 camera from Sony as well as f/1.7 6-elements lens, electronic image stabilization system, and LED flash. OPPO has also beefed up the rear camera on R9s Plus slightly further with optical image stabilization system.
At the same time, there is also another 16-megapixels camera on the front side of both smartphones. Meanwhile, both R9s and R9s Plus also features full HD (1920 x 1080) display although they are sized at 5.5-inch and 6.0-inch respectively.
In terms of processors, the R9s carries a 2.0 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 MSM8953 while the R9s Plus is equipped with the newly launched 1.95 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 653 MSM8976 Pro. Memory-wise, R9s and R9s Plus come standard with 4GB of RAM and 6GB RAM respectively although both have the same amount of internal storage space at 64GB.
Of course, OPPO has also included its VOOC fast charging system into both devices which provides two hours of talk time with just 5 minutes of charging. In terms of battery capacity, R9s offers 3,010 mAh while the R9s Plus carries 4,000 mAh. Not to forget, both devices are also equipped with fingerprint reader which is integrated into their home button.
As for pricing, the R9s will go for CNY 2799 (about RM 1,737) and R9s Plus is listed at CNY 3499 (about RM 2,172) although we have yet to receive any information regarding their availability and pricing in Malaysia. Hence, we’ll keep you posted once we receive any updates from OPPO Malaysia regarding R9s and R9s Plus.
