Acer has announced an updated Chromebook 15, which it claims to have better overall specifications compared to last year’s model. According to the company, one major upgrade featured on its latest Chromebook 15 (or CM3-532) is the increased battery life – up to 12 hours on a single charge.
Chromebooks, especially low-end ones, are well-known for their affordable price. Acer’s new Chromebook 15 is no different; it’s priced from US$199 (about RM835) and judging by its specifications, the price seems pretty fair. When it comes to design, Acer’s Chromebook 15 is… well, pretty dull – but for a laptop that costs less than RM1,000, what else would you expect right?
That aside, the Acer Chromebook 15 is fitted with an Intel Celeron N3060 processor that is capable of producing a blazing fast clock speed of 1.6GHz. In addition, the notebook is also equipped with 2GB of LPDDR3 RAM. Moreover, the notebook comes with 16GB of internal memory, which is, of course, expandable via an SD card (up to 128GB).
Acer’s Chromebook 15 features a 1366×786 display, which is a pretty odd resolution for a 15-inch notebook. Nonetheless, connectivity-wise, the notebook is fitted with two USB 3.0 ports as well as one HDMI, 3.5mm audio jack, and power-in ports each. Of course, being a Chromebook means that this notebook will run on Chrome OS.
According to Acer, its new Chromebook 15 is now available for purchase in selected regions. Unfortunately, there is no telling if this machine will make its way to Malaysia.
