Windows 10 Mobile devices may not be launched as often as Android devices in Malaysia, but today, HP has launched the high-end Elite X3 on our shores. As expected of a high-end device, the X3’s price tag is pretty steep.
What makes the Elite X3 a unique Windows Phone is the fact that it’s a “three-in-one” device: it can work as a phone, laptop, or even a desktop, thanks to Windows Continuum. “The one device that’s every device,” as HP puts it. There are several accessories that work with the Elite X3: the Desk Dock turns the phone into a desktop, and the Lap Dock – as its name suggests – effectively turns the Elite X3 into a laptop – the dock itself is in the shape of a laptop, after all.
In terms of specification, the Elite X3 Is definitely a high-end device. It’s packed with a 5.96-inch 1440p AMOLED display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor paired with 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM, 64GB of expandable storage, a 4,150mAh battery, as well as an IP67 rating. The Elite X3 also has a 16MP rear camera and an 8MP front-facing shooter.
The HP Elite X3 will be available in Malaysia sometime this month. According to HP, the Elite X3 itself retails at RM3,399 without headphones; the inclusion of one increases the price to RM3,499. Alternatively, the X3 can be purchased with the Desk Dock as a bundle for RM3,599.
As for the Lap Dock (which costs RM2,649 on its own), it will only start shipping next month. Those who are keen can also opt to purchase the Elite X3 together with the Lap Dock and Desk Dock for a cool RM5,799.
