First unveiled at Google I/O earlier this year, Google once again highlighted the Google Home at its Made By Google event earlier today. In case you not familiar with it, Google Home is essentially a voice-activated speaker that is powered by Google Assistant.
While most of its functions have already been explained at Google I/O, it is only today that Google has revealed more information regarding the device’s availability and pricing. Specifically, it will be released in United States this November for USD 129 (about RM 536) and each purchase will also be accompanied by 6 months of free access to YouTube Red.
Meanwhile, the company has also revealed another addition to Made By Google family of devices in the form of Google Wifi. In essence, it is generally a Wi-Fi extender with the ability to dynamically adjust the network performance of one’s home.
Not only that, users are also able to utilize the Google Wifi app to manage devices that are connected to their network and even pause the data connection to selected devices within the network as part of its family control capability.
To be available this December, it is priced at USD 129 (abut RM 536) and can also be obtained as a set of three units for USD 299 (about RM 1,241). As per other Made By Google devices that were announced today such as Pixel smartphones, Daydream View VR headset, and Chromecast Ultra , the availability of Google Wifi as well as Google Home in Malaysia is not known at the moment.
