Alongside the new Pixel smartphones and Daydream View VR headset, Google has also unveiled the brand new Chromecast Ultra. While it might looked like the current generation of Chromecast that was launched last year, the new Chromecast Ultra offers the capability to stream at 4K resolution.
Additionally, it also supports HDR and Dolby Vision-enabled contents. Said to 1.8x faster than existing Chromecast, the new Chromecast Ultra also comes with build-in Ethernet port inside its power adapter which is a rather logical addition since 4K contents would usually require more bandwidth.
Of course, it still support wireless network through its dual-band (2.4GHz and 5GHz) 802.11ac Wi-Fi capability. According to Google, the new Chromecase Ultra will be made available to users starting this November for USD 69 (about RM 287).
Not surprisingly, Google Play Movies and TV will also start providing 4K contents in the same month as well. However, the release date and pricing of Chromecast Ultra for Malaysia is not yet known at the moment.
