Samsung Malaysia has just introduced a new device under its affordable Galaxy J series on our shores. Dubbed the Galaxy J7 Prime, it is essentially a beefed up variant of the Galaxy J7 (2016), which was launched here a few months ago.
One of the most notable upgrades the Galaxy J7 Prime has over the standard Galaxy J7 (2016) is a sharper display: the Prime has a 5.5-inch 1920 x 1080 LCD display. For the sake of comparison, the standard Galaxy J7 only has a 720p display, but it’s a Super AMOLED panel instead of an LCD one found in the J7 Prime.
Aside from the display, the Galaxy J7 Prime also has double the storage of the 2016 Galaxy J7 at 32GB, which is further expandable with a microSD card; the Prime also has more RAM at 3GB. Rounding out the specifications of the Galaxy J7 Prime are a 1.6GHz octa-core processor, a 13MP f/1.9 rear camera, an 8MP f/1.9 front-facing shooter, a 3,300mAh battery, a fingerprint sensor, as well as a metal construction.

The Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime is now available in Malaysia; it can be purchased at selected Samsung authorised stores. Retailing at RM1,199, the J7 Prime is sold in two colours: White/Gold and Black.
