Sony’s latest flagship smartphone, the Xperia XZ, will be launched in Malaysia at the end of this week. After its global announcement earlier this month at IFA 2016, it appears Sony will look to aggressively push the XZ out quickly to consumers.
The Xperia XZ is Sony’s latest flagship smartphone that places a huge focus on the prowess of its rear camera. A new 23MP rear camera sensor sits proudly at the rear, assisted by laser autofocus and a new RGBC-IR white balance sensor for faster focus speeds and accurate exposure settings. The world’s first five-axis optical image stabilisation further enhances the camera’s technical capabilities.
The rest of the smartphone is fairly straightforward as a 2016 flagship, if a little behind the competition: Snapdragon 820 quad-core chipset, 3GB of RAM, 5.2-inch Full HD Triluminos display, and a 2,900mAh battery. Two storage options are available, including a 32GB single SIM variant and a 64GB dual SIM model.
No retail price has been revealed yet, though Sony Malaysia has recently opened registrations of interest for those who wish to buy the new Xperia XZ. We’ll be at the launch event on Friday, where all will be revealed. For now, check out the sexy unboxing video of the Xperia XZ when it momentarily visited our office recently.
