Uber Malaysia has introduced a new feature that allows customers to call for rides long before they need it. The idea behind Scheduled Rides is to cater to those who may need transport at an unusual hour – like those catching a flight at 5am.
Rides can be scheduled from as little as 15 minutes ahead of time, or as far ahead as 30 days in advance. Uber will remind the customer of their scheduled ride multiple times – with a notice appearing 24 hours, and 30 minutes, before the scheduled pickup. The app will also inform the customer when the driver is on the way over.
One thing to note is that Scheduled Rides are not available in every location. Uber is currently only limiting the service to select parts of the five cities that it serves in Malaysia. The list is up on the Uber Malaysia blog, but we’ve reproduced it here for the sake of convenience.
