ASUS Republic of Gamers division has just made another major move to strengthen its position in Malaysia by unveiling the first ever ASUS ROG Concept Store in our market earlier today. Established through a collaboration between Brightstar Computer and ASUS Malaysia, the new store located at the ground floor of Plaza Low Yat.
When we visited the store this morning, it seems to be filled with ROG gaming laptops. In fact, Brighstar has set up experience zone right in the middle of the store that features four sets of ROG GL552 gaming laptops with each of them are accompanied by a ROG Spatha mouse, ROG mousepad, ROG Cerberus headset and ROG-themed AKRacing seat.
There are also plenty of other ROG laptops that customers able to experience at the store as well including G752, Strix G502, and the liquid cooled GX700. ASUS Malaysia has even brought forward an almost finalized, pre-production unit of its new GX800 liquid cooled gaming laptop specially for the store’s opening today.
While it was not set up during our visit earlier today, the concept store also has a section for HTC Vive in order to showcase virtual reality through ROG products. Meanwhile, customers are also able to obtain other gaming-related products from ASUS through the new concept store such as desktop PCs, monitors, graphics cards, motherboards, headsets, mouse, mousepad and even network routers.
As weird as this might sound like, we’ve been informed that the setup at ROG Concept Stores today is not yet finalized at the moment and it might be changed from time to time. Nevertheless, it will be interesting to see how the new store will help enhance ROG’s presence in Malaysia.
