If you are a public beta tester for iOS or macOS, it’s time to check for an update. Apple has just released iOS 10.1 and macOS Sierra 10.12.1 public beta versions, and are now available for download. For those of you who have already gotten your hands on an iPhone 7 Plus, you’ll definitely want to check this out because iOS 10.1 brings the much talked about Portrait mode to your dual camera.
The iPhone 7 Plus features a dual-camera setup – one has a wide-angle sensor while the other has a telephoto sensor. On top of allowing users to capture better pictures and to get an optical zoom of up to 2x, it also comes with a new feature called Portrait. Portrait captures photos with greater depth of field, blurring the background to create better portrait images. Apple has finally released the feature on its latest iOS 10.1 public beta update. Do note that this feature is only available on the iPhone 7 Plus.
Apple’s public beta program allows users to try out upcoming versions of its software. Unlike its developer program, public beta is free and open to anyone who is interested. Of course, since the software are still in beta mode, you might run into some errors once in a while.
