Sony has announced the local pricing for its two new PlayStation models, which are the slimmer PlayStation 4 and the PlayStation 4 Pro. The former is basically a slimmer version of the standard PS4, while the PS4 Pro is a hardware-enhanced version that can handle 4K gaming, as well as HDR capabilities.
Seeing how the slimmer PlayStation 4 is thinner and lighter, it retains all the functionality from the original PS4. However, Sony did announce that the new PlayStation 4 does support HDR imaging technology, allowing gamers to play HDR content and games on their HDR-ready TV. The slimmer Sony PlayStation 4 (CUH-2000) with a 500GB HDD will retail at RM1,349 in Malaysia.
As for the PlayStation 4 Pro, Sony has equipped the console with a better GPU (8GB GDDR5), a faster processor (8-core AMD chip), as well as support for both 4K resolution and HDR. It will be packed with a 1TB HDD and it will be sold in Malaysia for RM1,799.
Unfortunately, Sony Interactive Entertainment has not revealed any information as to when the PlayStation 4 Pro will be arriving in Malaysia. The new standard PlayStation 4, on the other hand, will be available in Malaysia in mid-October 2016.
