While we Malaysians may not be lucky enough to be in the first or even the second wave of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus launch, there’s something new we can still look forward to – the Apple Watch Series 2. Apple has listed the Apple Watch Series 2 in its Malaysia website, along with the pricing.
Listed as “coming soon”, the Apple Watch Series 2 starts from RM1,649. This is more expensive than the price of the original Apple Watch when it was first launched in Malaysia early this year, starting from RM1,599. The price is for the basic Apple Watch Series 2 with a 38mm aluminium case; the 42mm aluminium case Series 2 starts from RM1,749.
As expected, the Apple Watch Series 2 comes in a wide variety of options including Aluminium case, Stainless Steel case, and the new Ceramic case; paired with different bands including Sports, Woven Nylon, Leather and Stainless Steel. The prices are as follows:
- Apple Watch Series 2 with Aluminium Case
- 38mm – From RM1,649
- 42mm – From RM1,749
- Apple Watch Series 2 with Stainless Steel Case
- 38mm – From RM2,499
- 42mm – From RM2,749
- Apple Watch Series 2 with Ceramic Case (Watch Edition)
- 38mm – From RM5,699
- 42mm – From RM5,949
- Apple Watch Series 2 with Nike Sport Band – From RM1,649
As for the original Apple Watch Series 1, Apple has reduced the price of the wearable, starting from RM1,199. That is RM100 down from the previous price drop. Sadly though, the price isn’t the only thing Apple dropped for its Series 1 smartwatch, the company also dropped the Stainless Steel and Watch Edition options for Series 1, offering the watch in only Aluminium case paired with a Sport band. The 38mm Series 1 is now RM1,199, while the 42mm Series 1 is priced at RM1,299.
Apple Watch Series 1 now only available in Aluminium case with Sport band
Apple did not announce the date availability of the Apple Watch Series 2 in Malaysia, so let’s keep our fingers crossed that we won’t have to wait another year.
