It is barely even one week after Intel officially announced its new 7th generation Core processors and we already start to see laptops powered by these processors appearing in our market. For Dell Malaysia, two models with 7th gen Intel Core processors have appeared on its online store.
The first being the Inspiron 15 5000 series which carries a 15.6-inch HD (1366 x 768) display, 1TB 5400rpm hard drive, and 42Whr 3-cell battery. That being said, the laptop is available in three different variants that mainly correspond to the specific 7th gen Intel Core processor that is equipped into them.
For example, the model with Core i3-7100U processor comes with 4GB of DDR4 RAM and relies on the Intel HD Graphics 620 that is integrated into the processor. Models with Core i5-7200U and Core i7-7500U on another hand are equipped with more RAM at 8GB and AMD Radeon R7 M445 with 4GB GDDR5 as its dedicated graphics card.
Meanwhile, the new 7th generation Intel Core processors are now also available on Vostro 14 5000 laptops. Built with 14-inch HD (1366 x 768) display and 42Whr 3-cell battery, the Core i3-7100U variant is equipped with 4GB DDR4 RAM and 500GB 5400rpm hard drive while graphical jobs are handle by the integrated Intel HD Graphics portion of the processor.
As for the Core i5-7200U, hardware combinations that are available to users are rather intriguing. Specifically, the first option comes in the form of 4GB single-channel DDR4 RAM, 1TB 5400rpm hard drive, and NVIDIA GeForce 940MX with 2GB GDDR5 VRAM while the second option offers 8GB dual-channel RAM, 256GB solid state drive, and NVIDIA GeForce 940MX with 4GB GDDR5 VRAM.
