Asus has announced a solution to the problem of not having an additional display for your laptop. The Asus ZenScreen is the world’s lightest portable monitor; weighing only 800g. Although, that seems to be the only thing it is capable of doing.
The ZenScreen is only 8mm thick, although Asus has not actually stated what the display size is. The press release is similarly vague about the size of the screen, although it appears to be marginally bigger than the Zenbook 3.
Connectivity to the ZenScreen is supplied by a hybrid USB port that supports both Type-A and Type-C connectors. Interestingly, the single port is the only connection option available on the Zen Screen.
Keeping the display propped up for viewing is a foldable smart case; which seems to be indicate that the ZenScreen doesn’t have its own stand. We might be wrong on this, as Asus has been very light with the details for the ZenScreen.
There is no telling when the ZenScreen will be available in the market, or how much it will cost and will cost 269 Euros (about RM1200).
