Asus has announced the Malaysian availability of its Z170 Pro Gaming Aura motherboard. The motherboard was first announced back in July and has now been made available in Malaysia for a price of RM820. Asus’ Z170 Pro Gaming Aura isn’t just a motherboard is fitted with fancy LEDs, it comes with a number of features that could be tempting for PC gamers as well.
Aesthetically, the Asus Z170 Pro Gaming Aura motherboard resembles that of the older Z170 Pro Gaming ATX motherboard – even most of the components are similar. The only difference in its design would be the added LED strip running along the right side of the motherboard. Being an Aura product means that the LEDs on the gaming motherboard are fully customisable via the included software. In addition to the plethora of possible colour combinations, users are also able to choose from a total of 12 different colour schemes that range from breathing, music sync, and many others.
That said, it wouldn’t be too wise for Asus to release a Z170 Pro Gaming refresh without adding some new features right. The company has done just that by introducing a new feature that allows one to 3D-print their own components to be fitted onto the motherboard – like an M.2 slot perhaps. Aside from adding flexibility, Asus has also decided to remove the obsolete (subjective) SATA Express connector found on the previous motherboard and have replaced it with six regular SATA ports instead.
Asus mentioned that the Z170 Pro Gaming Aura motherboard has already been made available to selected local distributors, which means that it can be purchased immediately. Also worth mentioning the fact that the motherboard comes with a three-year warranty as well. More information regarding the Z170 Pro Gaming Aura can be found here.
