Google Makes it Easier for Users to Migrate from iOS to Android with Android 7.0 Nougat

Using an iOS device and wish to migrate over to Android? Google has made that process a whole lot easier for you, sort of. The setup process on Android 7.0 now offers the option for users to import their data from an iPhone or an iPad.

According to reports, opting to import data from an iPhone or iPad device will bring you to a website – www.android.com/switch. The website will allow users to import contacts, photos, music, email and help them find their favourite app. Sadly though, the website only gives instructions on how to move individual data over, for example, if you wish to transfer photos from your iPhone to your Android device, you will have to download Google Photos app and backup all your photos on the app. Do note that because they are completely different platforms, you might not be able to get all your existing music and apps, and you might need to pay for them again on the Play Store.

Move from iOS to Android

Some smartphone manufacturers also have their own apps to help you move from other platform or other devices to their smartphone, however, with one directly from Google, it will make things a whole lot easier. Let’s keep our fingers crossed that this is only a beginning and Google will develop an app similar to Apple’s “Move to iOS” app that will automatically transfer all the data over.
