Google’s search is littered with easter eggs for people to stumble upon while conducting searches. Most are video game references, and a few are long enough to provide people with a short distraction. The two latest additions are going to be especially long distractions, as they happen to introduce Solitaire and tic-tac-toe.
Both mini-games will appear for users searching for the respective names. This gives us an excellent browser based version of Solitaire; which is particularly important as Microsoft has removed the game from Windows 10.
Unfortunately, tic-tac-toe does not provide a multiplayer option; with players being stuck with a basic AI opponent. It might be for the best that the game cannot be shared with others; but it would have been nice to be able to issue challenges.
The features are already live, and can be accessed by searching for Solitaire or tic-tac-toe. They also work on mobile devices, which means that all lost productivity for today is Google’s fault.
