For those of you who used Sony’s PlayMemories Online feature to backup your photos and videos on your Sony Xperia devices, take note that the company will be terminating the service by 31 March 2017. After that date, everything stored on PlayMemories Online will be deleted.
Sony recently sent an email notifying users that PlayMemories Online function used in the Album app will be terminated on 31 March 2017. The email also contains a link to teach users how to to download their content from PlayMemories Online to their Xperia device or computer. If you are using PlayMemories Online, you will definitely want to check it out and learn how to save your precious memories before it’s too late.
You can download your PlayMemories Online content to your Xperia device via the Album app, or download it to your Windows or Mac OS device via a “Content Download Tool” from Sony. Do note that if you haven’t already done so, do visit the Play Store to update your Album app on your Xperia devices. By 30 September 2016, Sony will discontinue access to the PlayMemories Online function on its Album app for users on version 7.8 or earlier.
