When the Nexus 6P was unveiled last year, it made quite an impact; especially for a Nexus smartphone. Not only is it the first Nexus device made in collaboration with a Chinese manufacturer (Huawei, in this case), the 6P also has one of the best cameras in the business. Now, it appears Huawei will be coming up with a new device that bears a striking resemblance to the Nexus 6P.
Rumoured to be the Huawei Mate S2, this mysterious device first appeared on TENAA. Unfortunately, even though it has been registered with the Chinese certification body, none of its specifications have been revealed yet. However, seeing how the alleged Mate S2 looks akin to the Nexus 6P, it may be packing similar display size and dimensions.
While the back of the mysterious device does look a lot like the Nexus 6P’s rear panel – right down to the glass panel of the camera as well as the rear fingerprint sensor – the front of the smartphone isn’t quite the same. While it still has pretty sizeable top and bottom bezels, the front-facing stereo speakers of the Nexus 6P are not to be found here. On top of that, the power button and volume rocker are also reversed on the Mate S2.
At the moment, it still remains to be seen if this mysterious device is indeed the Huawei Mate S2. If we were to take into account rumours circulating this device, it may be unveiled as early as next month at IFA 2016.
