Originally unveiled at Mobile World Congress earlier this year alongside Galaxy S7 smartphone series, Samsung Gear 360 camera has finally landed in Malaysia. The arrival of the camera is slightly later than originally expected but nevertheless, the timing is rather apt as the new Samsung Gear VR for Galaxy Note 7 is available in Malaysia today as well.
Designed to capture 360-degrees images and videos which can be viewed on Gear VR headset (naturally), this is made possible by its dual camera setup which featured 15-megapixels sensor and f/2.0 fish-eye lens on each camera. That being said, users are still able to utilize one camera at a time if they wanted to.
The Gear 360 also comes standard with its own mini tripod while still able to support a wide range of photography accessories out there through its standard 1/4-inch tripod mount. At this moment, the Gear 360 is able to support Galaxy Note 7, Note 5, S7, S7 edge, S6, S6 edge, and S6 edge+.
As for the new Gear VR headset for Galaxy Note 7, it now provides better field of view than the original Gear VR at 101 degrees. Don’t be disheartened if you not able to get your hands on Note 7 to use with the headset though as it is still able to support older Galaxy devices such thanks to a special adapter that is included together with it.
Price-wise, the Samsung Gear 360 is listed at RM 1,299 while the new Gear VR headset goes for RM 399. Customers are able to obtained them alongside the equally new, fitness-oriented Gear Fit2 and Gear IconX wearables at Samsung stores throughout the country from today onwards.
