We’ve had leaked specs and design renders of this year’s two Nexus devices and with a launch seemingly around the corner, the rumour mill is far from coming to a halt. Android Police have just posted a photo of what the Sailfish (the smaller, 5″ Nexus device) would look like in the flesh.
The Sailfish appears to have a metallic build save for the glass panel on its back that houses the camera module, fingerprint scanner and other sensors. This design choice is quite reminiscent of 2014’s LG Nexus 4 that also featured a glass backing.
The lack of front-facing speakers and a huge chin-bezel might also raise some eyebrows. While there is no “Nexus” logo present in these leaked photos, it is believed that the devices will be branded with a Google “G” logo instead.
In case the crop job of the photo above triggered your OCD, here’s an edited photo of the Sailfish alongside previous Nexus models by redditor, anders987:
While the leaked photo is of the Sailfish Nexus, it is believed that the larger 5.5″ Marlin Nexus will sport exactly the same design and metallic body; with the bigger screen being the only aesthetic difference. It is only a matter of time before both Nexus devices launch this year, so stay tuned as more details about the phones are revealed.
