We have been hearing about ASUS ROG Strix Radeon RX 480 graphics cards for quite some time and have even briefly checked it out last month but now, it is finally available in Malaysia. The card is not alone though as the ASUS ROG Strix Radeon RX 470 has also landed in our market as well.
While they might come from the same family, these cards are rather different from each other. Apart from the obvious differences in terms of firepower due to the GPU and VRAM that have been equipped to each card, they also feature different thermal solutions.
Specifically, the Strix RX 480 features three fans in its DirectCU III solution while Strix RX 470 is equipped with dual-fan DirectCU II setup. While both cards do come with the ASUS FanConnect feature, the Strix 470 only comes with one connector for it instead of two connectors as per Strix RX 480.
Nevertheless, both cards still feature customizable Aura RGB lighting which has become one of the common feature among products under the ROG Strix series. In terms of GPU clock speed, here are how they looked like when compared to each other:
Available immediately, the standard ASUS ROG Strix RX 480 is priced at RM 1,559 while the OC version goes for RM 1,675. As for ROG Strix RX 470, it can be obtained for RM 1,132 for the standard model or RM 1,227 for those who prefer the OC variant.
