For those who are not into the latest hit game, Pokemon Go, here’s another augmented reality game for you to try out, Dragon Spotting. Dragon Spotting is a mobile game developed by Disney and Google, to help promote the remaking of the classic 1977 film, Pete’s Dragon.
The game is available right now via the mobile website. Just visit www.dragonspotting.com on your mobile browser to get started, no downloading required. After keying in your date of birth, the game will then start and ask you to identify everyday objects such as the television or a pot of plant. Once you have correctly identified those items, Elliot the dragon will appear; who knew there’s a dragon hiding in your house all along.
The game uses Google’s Cloud Vision technology to analyse the environment and identify objects. After that, it will blend Elliot into the scene that can be viewed throw the phone’s camera. The same technology is used to detect emotions of people, and extract text from photos, identify languages and such.
Dragon Spotting is available for Android and iOS however, because iPhone can’t tap into Google’s Cloud Vision, it is less fun compared to the Android version, which can work automatically instead of asking you to upload pictures of objects to the mobile site.
Check out Dragon Spotting website now to get started.
