The next generation iPhone has been rumoured and leaked numerous times in the past, which isn’t all that surprising. This latest leak, however, is perhaps what most people have been waiting for: according to those who are familiar with the matter, this year’s iteration of iPhone – or iPhones – will be unveiled on the 7th of September.
This is in line with a previous leak, which claims that the new iPhone will be available for pre-order on the 9th of September. On top of that, a 7 September unveiling is actually quite apt; that is, assuming that the next generation iPhone will be dubbed the iPhone 7.
Based on the many leaks and rumours circulating this year’s iPhone, there may be two models – a standard model, and a bigger Plus variant. The naming of the next iPhone, on the other hand, has been debated for quite some time now. Seeing how rumours are suggesting that the upcoming iPhone will be an incremental upgrade, it may not be dubbed the iPhone 7 at all.
Whether or not Apple will be unveiling the new iPhone on the 7th of September next month still remains to be seen; after all, the Cupertino company has yet to officially announce any launch event. If this year’s iPhone does get unveiled on that day, the pre-order of the device may very well begin on 9 September.
