Officially announced just last week, the Oppo F1s has now been launched in Malaysia. On the surface, the F1s appears to be a mid-range smartphone, but it has an intriguing hardware configuration: its front-facing camera is better than the rear shooter.
It is for this very reason Oppo dubs the F1s the “selfie expert.” This device has a 16MP front-facing camera with a f/2.0 aperture and a 13MP rear shooter with phase detection autofocus. In line with the F1s focus of being a selfie-centric smartphone, it also offers Beautify 4.0, which provides “seven levels of beautification and two skin tone modes.”
Other than that, the F1s also has a premium metal construction and a fingerprint sensor integrated into the home button of the device. According to Oppo, the sensor can unlock the F1s in 0.22 seconds.
Rounding out the specifications of the F1s are a 5.5-inch 720p display, a MediaTek MT6750 processor paired with 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage (expandable with a microSD card up to 128GB), a 3,075mAh battery, and the company’s ColorOS 3.0 based on Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box.
In Malaysia, the Oppo F1s will be available in two colours: Gold and Rose Gold. The device will be available for pre-order from today onwards until the 19th of August for RM1,198. While some may think this is quite a hefty price tag for a mid-range device, selfie lovers may just be interested in the Oppo F1s.
