The Meizu M3 Note was announced back in April this year in China, and we were told at the time that the device will be available in Malaysia by the end of the very same month. Evidently, that did not happen, but it appears the M3 Note is finally being brought into Malaysia now.
In our routine search on SIRIM, we spotted a device with the model number “M3 Note (L681H)” in the certification body’s database. Registered under Dynamics Distribution, a quick Google search revealed that the device in question is in fact the Meizu M3 Note.
Interestingly, another Meizu device was also registered with SIRIM: the Meizu M3s. Essentially, it is an upgraded variant of the Meizu M3; the former has a more premium metal construction as well as a bigger 3,020mAh battery.
The fact that the M3 Note is making its way into Malaysia is definitely good news for consumers; it’s one of the main competitors to the excellent Xiaomi Redmi Note 3. In our hands on of the M3 Note, we were particularly fond of its build quality as well as the device’s very generous 4,100mAh battery; it doesn’t even feel all that heavy with such a big battery capacity.
Of course, just because the Meizu M3 Note and M3s have been registered with SIRIM does not mean they will be officially available here. Regardless, we will keep a close eye on the local availability of these two devices.
