If you’re an avid player of the latest hit game, Pokémon Go, it’s time to head to your respective app store to perform an update. Niantic recently released a Pokémon Go update that brings several important updates and fixes.
First up, as a safety precaution that everyone should be aware of but some people choose to ignore, the update will remind Trainers to not play while driving. If Trainers are traveling beyond a certain speed, the app will popup a dialog and Trainers must confirm that they are not driving in order to continue playing.
Niantic also made improvements to the accuracy of curveball throws, and fixed a bug that prevented “Nice”, “Great”, and “Excellent” Poké Ball throws from awarding the appropriate experience bonuses. The update also allow Trainers to change their nickname however, you can only do so one time, so please choose your new nickname wisely.
Other updates in this version include new visuals of Team leaders, battery saving mode has been re-enabled for iOS users, minor text fixes, and a new “Sightings” menu that replaces “Nearby” menu in previous version. The developer is testing a variation of “Nearby Pokémon” feature with a subset of users, so don’t be surprised if you see some variation in the nearby Pokémon UI.
