While the LG V10 was never launched in Malaysia, it is a well-liked Android smartphone; perhaps even more so than both of the company’s other two flagship devices, the LG G4 and G5. Turns out, we won’t have to wait too long for the V10’s successor: LG has confirmed that the LG V20 will be launched in September.
Other than revealing that the LG V20 will be launched next month, the company also mentioned that the upcoming smartphone will be one of the first Android devices to be running on the latest iteration of the OS: Android 7.0 Nougat. This is a very interesting piece of information, considering the fact that this year’s Nexus device – or devices – has yet to be announced.
Typically, the latest version of Android makes its debut on a Nexus device; chances are, this year’s Nexus smartphone will be announced before the LG V20. Looking back, both the Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X were launched in late September last year, so it wouldn’t be far-fetched to assume that the next Nexus smartphone will be announced around the same time. After all, there are already many leaks surrounding these devices, such as the recently leaked Nexus Sailfish.
Regardless, we will have to wait until September next month to see whether or not the LG V20 will be announced before or after the next Nexus smartphone. Hopefully, more details will be revealed in the very near future.
