There’s nothing more devastating than finding out that yet another child has passed away because they’ve been forgotten at the back seat of a car on a hot day. Waze now has a new Child Reminder feature that can help remind parents not to forget their child in the car.
The feature is found under the beta version of the Waze app. Once activated under the settings menu, it will remind the driver to check on their child once they complete a journey. The feature is customisable, which means that users can compose a custom reminder.
While Child Reminder may seem like a minor update, it is definitely a very helpful tool for parents. Sometimes on a tiring day, especially when there is a change of routine, parents tend to go on their usual day and forget that they have a sleeping child on the back seat that they forgot to drop off at their grandparent’s home. In such instance, a friendly reminder could help save innocent lives.
Sadly though, the feature is not available for end users. Since it is now available in the beta version of Waze, let’s hope the company releases it in its next update.
