We’ve been seeing plenty of rumours and leaks about the upcoming iPhone 7, but for those of you who are more concern about the larger iPad Pro that made its first debut last September, here’s an update for you. A pair of images claiming to be of the 12.9” iPad Pro has been making its way around the web. The images, obtained by AppleInsider, is said to be leaked by a worker in Apple’s Asian supply chain.
The pictures show a device that looks like an iPad. It is identified with the model number MH1C2CD/F, a model number not associated with any iPad models Apple has ever made. It also follows Apple’s numbering convention, ML0G2LL/A (ML3N2LL/A for cellular models) for the existing iPad Pro. The build number also corresponds to the Cupertino company’s latest iOS 10 beta.
iOS 10 that was announced back in WWDC 2016
But don’t get too excited yet though, while the model and build number makes it look legitimate, the device only has 12GB of storage on board. AppleInsider notes that the amount is just enough for it to load an operating system and apps for internal testing and hardware debugging, but it makes little sense as to why Apple would do that so take it with a pinch of salt.
Sadly though, that’s all we can derive from the photos. The person who snapped the images did not mention any further details like design and specifications. The first iPad Pro was announced last year, along with the launch of the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus.
