Leaks have surfaced showing the alleged design of the upcoming custom Radeon RX 470 and RX 460 graphics card by Sapphire. However, aside from a few images showcasing the alleged graphics cards, the specifications of each graphics cards was not mentioned.
First up, is the Sapphire Radeon RX 470 Platinum Edition (alleged name). At first glance, the cooler shroud of this graphics card resembles that of the reference Radeon RX 480, but with a silver finish instead of matte black. That said, unlike the Radeon RX 480, Sapphire’s graphics card does come with a backplate. In addition, based on the leaked images, the Sapphire RX 470 Platinum Edition will be equipped with a 6-pin power connector.
Following that is the Sapphire Radeon RX 460 graphics card. It is said that Sapphire will be releasing two variants of this graphics card: 2GB and 4GB. The custom Radeon RX 460 by Sapphire come with two cooling fans that should make help it cool down more efficiently compared to the reference model.
Speaking of which, Lisa Su, AMD’s CEO, has mentioned that the Radeon RX 460 will largely be made available by AMD’s AIB partners; which means that there may only be limited amounts of the reference RX 460 cards being released by AMD.
That aside, it is rumoured that the Sapphire Radeon RX 470 graphics card will be priced at US$179 (about RM730). Meanwhile, the price of the Sapphire Radeon RX 460 was not mentioned. As always, take this one with a grain of salt folks.
